NEW COLLEGE FACULTY
Despite the passive cooperation from the Teachers College Faculty Alexander assembled a very diverse and talented group of educators. He knew that for the college to be successful, especially since it was to be cumulative record based, he needed a committed enthusiastic faculty. To that end, everyone was hand-picked personally by Alexander. Some of the faculty only served one semester, others were part of the experiment for the whole seven years. Some of the faculty were also New College students and graduates.

Alexander knew that for the college to succeed he had to have a student body that would be up to the challenge he envisioned. He was looking for students with “high mental ability, worthwhile achievement, good character, abundant physical and mental health, sufficient energy, a pleasing personality, wide cultural interests, good habits, high ideals, and sincerity of purpose.”
